This is an internal competition launched by Science Technology and Innovation (STI) Department as part of its effort to mainstream the benefits of STI within the IsDB operations. The competition aims to recognize talent and skills and help in scaling up these innovative ideas for the benefit of the bank. The competition provides a space for everybody to suggest innovative ideas that will transform the working environment and achieve the President’s five-year plan. The competition is open for all staff of IsDBG entities irrespective of their position or type of contract as well as consultants and contractors who are associated with IsDB Group.


The IsDB internal competition is intended to recognize, encourage, inspire & reward innovative ideas, originating from IsDB staff members, that are expected to contribute to improving the work environment in terms of:

  • Enhanced productivity - through improving the workplace conditions, skills of the workforce and providing employees with the right tools and equipment that will allow them to perform their duties efficiently and on time.

  • Improved efficiency - through innovative high-quality, modern programmes, systems and equipment that will allow employees to get more quality work done in a shorter period of time as well as reduce the amount of time spent on unnecessary tasks.

  • Increased job satisfaction - maximizing the Bank’s value proposition to its Member Countries (MCs) by empowering the staff to quickly distill the variables affecting risk and reward so they can make better and more business decisions and hence address timely our MCs needs.

The competition shall be open to all the members including staffs, consultants, contractors that are associated with IsDB Group. It would be a opportunity for the recognition of the best talents and their great ideas that would improve our work environment. The idea could relate to any areas of improvement in the organization.



The winning proposals should match the following criteria.

  1. Innovativeness: How unique the idea/initiative is in terms of its concept, process and implementation feasibility?

  2. Impact/Results: Does the project/initiative has a clear and measurable results that are likely to create impact on IsDB Group’s regular operations?

  3. Replicability: Does the project/initiative has elements that ensure its replicability in other areas of IsDB Group activities?

  4. Sustainability: How much support would be needed to ensure continuity of the idea?

  5. Practicality: Is the idea feasible in terms of the plan, resources and budget?

Evaluation Panels:

The proposals will be evaluated by a selection committee and a panel of judges assigned by the management.

The selection committee will shortlist the 10 most innovative ideas and the panel of judges will identify the 3 most innovative ideas as the winners.


Monetary reward of $5,000 for top three winners. 

The winners will have the opportunity to present their ideas in front of the management.


The awards to the winners will be given in a special ceremony under the patronage of H.E. the President, IsDBG.
